So, outside of everything I’ve been doing here, I decided so long as I was already making jewelry, I might as well share all that I’ve learned along the way with my readers! So, below, you can find my very first video tutorial on how to make a simple infinity-style ring. They are just as quick and easy to make as they are beautiful! You don’t necessarily have to use sterling wire as I am doing in the video; you can use any type of metal wire you wish. I love the look of copper and brass rings as well, so try that out if you’re looking for a cheaper option in getting into jewelry making.
If you don’t have all the tools used below, you can probably get by if you have a simple pair of needle-nosed pliers and some wire cutters. As I show you in my video, I have also used things like chapstick tubes, round end of a hammer-head, curling irons, and all kinds of other household items to make rings when I was just getting started or if I forgot to bring a tool along with me somewhere. Use your imagination and a little creativity! For your convenience, I’ve included a link to my favorite wire supply on Ebay as well as Amazon links to the items which I myself use, in the list below. If you’re looking to stock up your toolbox, check them out. Let me know what you think of the video and leave me a comment, or if you have questions, feel free to ask! Enjoy and happy crafting!
Tools and Materials Used:
- .925 Sterling silver wire (I’ve had great luck ordering a couple different gauges through this seller)
- Ring mandrel
- Nylon-coated round-nose pliers
- Nylon-jaw pliers
- Rubber jeweler’s mallet
- Wire nippers
(This isn’t the exact brand that I use but something like this should work. I think mine may have actually come in a tool set I bought a LOOOONG time ago :P)
